About HandToHandHealth
HandToHandHealth is a free, community-driven platform that connects lawfully present immigrants who have lost publicly funded health insurance due to the One Big Beautiful Bill (signed July 4, 2025) with compassionate sponsors willing to cover the cost of private health insurance. The bill introduces strict work requirements, eligibility restrictions, and funding cuts to programs like Medicaid, directly removing coverage for refugees, asylees, DACA recipients, TPS holders, parolees, and green card holders in waiting periods. Key changes include ending Medicaid eligibility for over 1.4 million lawfully present immigrants (effective October 1, 2026) and eliminating ACA premium tax credits for non-citizens earning below 100% of the federal poverty level (starting December 31, 2025).
Our focused mission is to help these affected immigrants regain access to care through direct, one-to-one sponsor matches—at no cost to anyone, with zero fees, commissions, or hidden charges taken from sponsors, applicants, or insurers.
We are completely independent and not affiliated with any insurance companies, brokers, agents, nonprofits, government agencies, or other organizations. We do not operate as a fund, pool, or collective where money is collected and redistributed. No sponsor funds ever pass through our hands. Every dollar goes straight from the sponsor to the licensed insurance provider—ensuring maximum transparency and trust.
How We Work
Our process is simple, manual, and built on direct accountability:
Submit Your Application Immigrants provide proof of status and lost coverage. Sponsors indicate support amount, duration, and preferences (including co-sponsorship options).
Verification We confirm only what’s needed: immigration status and loss of free insurance.
Manual Matching We personally pair each verified applicant with a willing sponsor based on needs and pledged support.
Plan Selection We reach out to licensed third-party brokers or insurers to identify a suitable plan.
Direct Billing The official insurance bill is sent directly to the sponsor via email for payment to the provider. We never touch the money.
